- Eye damage: Diabetes Retinopathy/Nonproliferative retinopathy/ Proliferative retinopathy, Cataracts, Glaucoma,
- Foot and Leg damage (Diabetes Neuropathy): Signs include severe dry skin and calluses on feet, ulcers on the bottom of the feet, circulation problems, and infections which can all lead quickly to severe gangrene, amputations, sepsis blood infection, or even death. Aggressive treatments for foot and leg infections must be done immediately to prevent amputations, further nerve damage, or sepsis infection in your blood which can travel quickly through the blood stream and attack your entire body, organs, and cause death. Foot or leg infections can be just a small little red spot but can spread very quickly and get worse, many times in just 1 to 3 days. Treatments include identifying the infection by taking a “culture” of the infection, getting treated by an Infectious Specialist Doctor, looking at all possible causes and treatments to the infection and wound care therapies including possibly hyperbaric treatments if needed and possible to prevent an amputation and speed up the healing process.
